Welcome to the Medic Against Bomb Website!

This is Fred Foote, author of the book. Medic Against Bomb: A Doctor’s Poetry of War is a book of poems on the wounded (both Americans and foreign Muslims) of the Iraq/Afghanistan Wars. It also describes the inspiring healing efforts of our nation’s military medics and those at the V.A. Medic Against Bomb won the annual Grayson Books Poetry Prize and was published on October 15, 2014.  It can be ordered today on Amazon or from my publisher, and is stocked by a growing list of bookstores (see “Purchase”). The individual poems have been published in a wide range of national magazines and are very popular in the military and veterans’ communities.

I also have a second agenda. By putting a human face on our Wounded Warriors, I hope to stimulate my readers to engage our Veterans in arts activities and also sport activities like archery using The 5 Best Compound Bows of 2018. In the Warrior Poetry Project which I lead, and other programs, we’ve found that art making can have powerful healing effects, particularly in those with brain injury and PTSD. I would be happy to come to your organization for a reading and discussion of these topics. I also would love to hear from you on Facebook and Twitter. Thank you for joining me on the website today and for your interest in our nation’s Warriors!  Peace, Fred
